I'm a technologist and innovator at Yahoo!, Santa Clara, CA. -- leading an engineering team within Yahoo! Web Search while focusing on the areas of data mining, contextual analysis, and contextual / semantic search. More recently I started exploring Semantic Web technologies, and how they can be leveraged to further improve the Web Search experience.

I invented, built, and deployed two products in the past years at Yahoo!: Contextual Shortcuts, which is live in Yahoo! Mail and on Yahoo! News (look for those dotted underlined word/terms that bring up a popup overlay), and an earlier Contextual Search experiment called Y!Q.

Here are some blog post and articles that describes Contextual Shortcuts in more detail:

Before Y! Shortcuts I invented and built Y!Q Contextual Search. Here are some related blog posts:

You will probably find more articles soon on our Y! Search Blog.

Also, here is a list of my papers/publications, along with my latest list of issued patents, and list of patent applications (still growing ;-)
